About Arura

Arura is an Australian Aboriginal word meaning “gathering at camp”. Arura is an initiative of Rallies NI, a church-based youth organisation with four main aims – the spiritual, physical, social and educational development of every young person. It is a week-long camp for young people from across Northern Ireland and further afield which provides an opportunity for young people to get together and enjoy a great holiday in a Christian atmosphere.

History

The first ever Rally Arura was held in Australia in 1978. Northern Ireland hosted its first Arura in 1984 – so that makes this the eighth Arura to be held here. The last Arura was in 2010 in Limavady when over 260 young people enjoyed a week full of activities – including skirmishing, drumming, Arura’s Got Talent, launching 60 sky lanterns, the ‘GAP’ marquee complete with coffee bar, tuck shop and gift shop, beatboxing, Flash Mob and trips to Londonderry, Buncrana and Barry’s Amusements in Portrush.

I really enjoyed Arura! It really helped me develop my walk with God. The activities that we took part in were great fun! I made so many new friends and after 4 years I still keep in contact. I know this year will be the same 🙂 Ellen from Lisburn

Arura 2010 completely changed my life! I gave my life to the Lord at the camp and met so many people that still continue to encourage me 4 years down the line! I can’t wait until the next one to re-ignite my friendships and spend a whole week worshipping Christ! Sophie from Carryduff

Arura is an experience not to be missed. The last Arura was incredible and I had an amazing time but I am sure this one will be just as good. When I was at the last Arura, not only did I have an amazing time but I learnt so much about God as well. Conor from Newtownards

Rally Arura is a great place to meet new friends and other people looking to serve God. It’s such a great week full of the greatest activities that becomes a week you won’t forget! Stephen from County Down

Sports and Activities

We will have a load of different activities for you and your friends to enjoy – some will be great fun, others will help you learn something new and then there’ll be the ones that only the brave will try! There will be adventure pursuits, beach volleyball, football, pony trekking and many more exciting activities. Bring your old trainers!

Trips There are so many great places to see on the North Coast, so we will head out for a number of trips to make the most of the beaches, seaside towns and, of course, the amusements!

Exploring the Bible

Jesus said “I have come that you might have life and have it to the full”. At Arura we will meet each morning to dig deeper into what Jesus said and to make time to learn and discuss more from the Bible. Then in the evening there’ll be time to worship God in music and to hear from people who are living life to the full.

The Gap

The GAP is the place on site where you can chill out between activities and buy snacks, drinks and souvenirs.
